Blackberry Torch 9850 Phone (Sprint)

After years of a physical keyboard I expected a big compromise to go to touch-only. Within a day, the virtual keyboard was at least as productive, and the 9850's intelligent correction takes care of most of my typos anyway. Screen is fantastic - first one I've ever seen that can be used easily in direct sunlight. Battery life is superb - 10 hours of serious use is no problem. No million available apps like i- and droid, but still more than I need or want. Great for syncing with Outlook (a problem with Android), and easy options for tethering. I read the complaints about the mix of touch and "hard" keys, but for me this mix is very functional. And the feel, size, weight, and look are all first rate. Android and iPhone may be better toys, but this Torch shines if you really mean business. A wonderful surprise how much better it is than I expected.

AT&T 4G Network

This phone runs on AT&T's dual-band 850/1900 MHz 4G network (UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+), and with HSPA+ you'll experience mobile data speeds up to 4x faster than ordinary mobile broadband--up to approximately 6 Mbps (download). AT&T has deployed HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of its mobile broadband network, which enables 4G speeds when combined with enhanced backhaul (via Ethernet or fiber).
Backhaul is one of the major pieces of a telecommunications network. Think of it as the limbs connecting AT&T's cell towers with AT&T's backbone network that provides access to the Internet.
In areas where either AT&T's 3G or 4G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways.

BlackBerry Bold 9930 Phone (Verizon Wireless)

This is the best smartphone on the market hands down, in particular, for someone who is not in love with typing emails on a touch screen only phone. This device provides the best of both worlds - (1) a QWERTY keyboard that no one can dispute is the best keyboard on the market (its smoothness and ease of typing is incredible and even vastly better than earlier blackberries) and (2) a crystal clear touch screen. It is also razor thin and incredibly sleek looking. While the outages this past week may turn some people off, RIM will surely do whatever they can to make sure that never happens again (and that is was a rare occurrence), and despite the outage, RIM's email service is still the best in the game. Instant push emails allows users to respond quickly and not get behind when emails pile up. The new operating system and browser is a vast improvement as well.

Powered by the next-generation BlackBerry OS 7, the BlackBerry Bold 9930 smartphone for Verizon Wireless is also the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone ever at just 10.5mm (0.41 inches). A large 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen boasts millions of colors and is packed with pixels for crystal clear viewing of e-mail, web sites, and video. It's complemented by a full QWERTY keyboard and trackpad navigation.

A powerful 1.2 GHz processor provides smoother multitasking and navigation, fast downloads, and crisp HD 720p video recording via the Bold 9930's 5-megapixel camera. And the integrated Liquid Graphics technology combines a dedicated graphics processor with the main processor for a highly responsive touch interface with incredibly fast and smooth graphics.
In addition to high-speed connectivity on the fast and reliable Verizon Wireless 3G network, the Bold 9930 allows you to enjoy wireless voice and data service in more than 200 countries--including more than 125 with 3G speeds.
Packed full of the latest mobile technologies, the Bold 9930 includes an augmented reality feature that uses the built-in compass (magnetometer) to display over 150 million points of interest, BBM contacts, and more. And BlackBerry's universal search has been amped up in BlackBerry 7 OS. With speech-to-text translation, you can now look for files, e-mail, contacts and music--and even search the web--all without typing a thing.
With BlackBerry, on-the-go productivity is the name of the game. You'll get access to the world-class BlackBerry push messaging service with access to up to 10 supported business and personal e-mail accounts, plus BlackBerry Enterprise Server support for corporate e-mail installations. The DataViz Docs To Go Premium suite is pre-loaded for editing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from anywhere, and you can access BlackBerry App World to download more productivity apps (as well as games and more). The Bold 9930 also offers support for the BlackBerry Playbook tablet BlackBerry Bridge (Bridge is available as a free download on BlackBerry App World).
The new BlackBerry browser offers incredibly fast page load times, better web-based gaming, HTML5 video support, and seamless scrolling and zooming. Other features include an 8 GB internal memory, expansion via microSD memory cards (up to 32 GB in size), Bluetooth for hands-free devices and stereo music streaming, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, and up to 6.6 hours of talk time

BlackBerry Torch 4G 9810 Phone, White (AT&T)

In one word, BlackBerry Torch 4G 9810 Phone, White (AT&T) is AMAZING! This is my first BB since I am a graphic designer & own my own business, I needed a good phone that gave me the options to use phone, email & internet. I'm not familiar with touch screens, either, I'm really new to the smartphone PERIOD. With this being said, it took me no time to adjust to the touchscreen, phone, apps, navigation, etc. I'm in love. I don't think I will ever use another phone again, only to upgrade to a newer BB in the future (no time soon!) 4G is outstanding!

Powered by the next-generation BlackBerry OS 7, the BlackBerry Torch 9810 smartphone runs on AT&T's 4G network, which provides broadband speeds up to 4x faster than AT&T's already fast mobile broadband network (learn more below). The Torch 9810 is faster and more fluid than its predecessor with high performance hardware features that help deliver an enhanced multimedia experience.
